Our visit to 94.7FM
Peter and Kevin drop by the 94.7 FM studios in Portland when Peter’s playlist is selected for The Perfect Playlist segment hosted by Gustav. Not only did Gustav play a Hello Morning track, but he said some very kind words about the band as well.

The Killers – All these Things that I’ve Done
Probably the first Killers song I ever heard. I’ve always liked the gospel choir on this one. Not sure what the correlation between having soul and being a soldier is, but it sounds like it’s important, so I believe him.
Hello Morning – Come Home
Self-promotion ftw! An upbeat song about a troubled relationship, I think. The basic idea of the song pretty much wrote itself in about 15 minutes. The bridge went through some changes after we started playing it live, as did the chord changes on the final verse, the drum part, and the switch from using electric bass to Moog. Such is the refinement process from broad musical ideas into songs that are satisfying for the band.
Death Cab for Cutie – Cath…
One of my favorite modern rock drummers & favorite bands to see in concert. Also, you don’t often see ellipses in song titles, especially after names.
Phoenix – 1901
Just a fun album overall. Kinda reminds me of chewing gum for some reason. Maybe it’s that album art. Kinda sounds ike a French version of the Strokes, toying with dance music.
The Jesus & Mary Chain – Head On
-This was the first music video I remember seeing while thinking “I’ve got to know who this is”. A few years later the Pixies (one of my Top 5 all time bands) covered it on their last album. My 12 year old self really connected to this song, with lyrics of electric shocks and going to the dirty part of town. It was mischievous and dangerous and I loved it.
